All of these items I personally have in my kitchen, and can recommend from experience.
Yes, with a capital S. I have two and even though there is only one of me living at my house, I often utilize both of them at the same time. My sister gave me my first Instant Pot and it sat on my kitchen shelf for FIVE MONTHS because I was afraid to use it. And. . .look at me now. Using it everyday, and using both of them at the same time. Let me know if you have any questions about using the Instant Pot. I reheat foods, steam foods, make rice, make brownies, etc. - all in the Instant Pot.
Technically, it’s not called a Zester. However, I use it so often because I love to add lime, lemon or orange Zest to so many things.
I cut a lot of pineapples, potatoes, carrots, celery, and watermelons so I need a few sharp knives.
No need to go out and buy the fanciest one out there. I love my Hamilton Beach food processor. It’s basic, easy to clean, and works great. I love to shred carrots for my Pirates of the CARROT-BEAN salad, make “mayo,” blend just about everything.
I know they are expensive. However, I use mine at least 5 times a week. And have done so for years. And they last forever. Nothing compares to the smoothie making quality. Although a Nutri Bullet comes very close. The Nutri Bullet is much easier to clean and I love that you blend everything right there in the Nutri Bullet cup. But the Vita Mix can do so much more.
Check for sales at local county fairs, Costco, etc.
Non stick pan. I have a couple and they are great for sautéing with water or broth. My favorite one is the Scan Pan.
I use one strictly for onions and garlic. And it’s labeled. And my daughter still uses that one to cut peaches. Maybe it’s psychological, but the peaches tasted onion-y!.
I know people love their Kitchen Aid mixers but there is something about a hand mixer that I love. Ok, maybe I’ll take mine out of the box and try it. Another gift from my sister. I do give my sister things, it’s not a one way street of her just giving me things. I gave her my air fryer. You might want one if you like fried foods that aren’t fried in oil. I have a Black and Decker hand mixer that is ok. . .I wouldn't buy it again. I love that everything is stored in a case so you don't have to search for the beaters, however, it's hard to read the speeds and the slow speed doesn't seem that slow. This is the one I will buy next:
Immersion Blender. This is super fun. It’s not really needed. But it’s fun to use if you don’t want to transfer whatever you’re making on the stove to the food processor or Vita Mix. I have a white Cuisinart one,but this yellow one is so pretty!
Another appliance I’ve had for years. About 25 years ago I was making and drinking carrot juice. Then I stopped. I put away the juicer for several years until I found it again after reading Anthony William’s books and started making and drinking celery juice every morning. I stopped drinking celery juice for about a year when I had to be at work at 7:00 and I had a half hour commute. Celery juice at 5:30 am just didn’t sound great. But that job is over and now I’m back to my morning celery juice. Except when I run out of celery.
I don't see the one I have. . . .here's the new modern one:
I’m going to assume you have a strainer, bowls, forks, spoons, can opener, stove, refrigerator, etc.
